Mid-Cities Stamp Club - Arlington Meeting

The next Arlington meeting for 2026 will be held on Wednesday, September2, at our new meeting place (see below). NOTE: Our meeting room has changed to Room 208 upstairs. This room is to the left of our previous room and is slightly larger (thanks to Ken A. for arranging this).

The program will be our semi-annual auction. We have about 70 lots. Also, if you intend to bid, reserve a paddle number when you sign the registration sheet.

APS Books will be available at the meeting, courtesy of Dave Stockbridge. Club books will also be available.

NOTE: Granbury Auction, September 22 - Dave Stockbridge provides the following guidance: Auction items need to be provided to me by September 2nd so I can prepare a listing of sale items. The listing will be distributed to all club members and posted for others. Your attendance is welcome. However, I accept absentee bidding prior to the auction date by email or phone. Items submitted for sale should be of moderate value, with a minimum bid of at least $1. All bidding will be done in whole dollar increments. Submissions are limited to no more than 5 items per member. Please let me know if you will be submitting items to aid me in planning the auction."

Election of Officers: If anyone would like to serve as an officer in the club, this is your chance to participate. President, Vice President (one for each chapter), Secretary, Treasurer, and Board of Directors (3) are all positions that need to be filled. You can let any of the current officers or board members know of your interest. Keep in mind, the club doesn’t exist without leadership and direction.

We will meet at our NEW official gathering place: the Trinity Unity Methodist Church, 1200 West Green Oaks Blvd. Meeting Room Change - Our meeting room will be Room 208 upstairs. This room is to the left of our previous room and is slightly larger (thanks to Ken A. for arranging this). The meeting will begin at 6:30 P.M., and end at 8:30 P.M. We have to vacate the facility by 9:00 P.M.

Ordinarily when we have an in-person meeting, we also have a MEET'N'EAT at an area restaurant, prior to the meeting. The group usually gathers between 5:15 and 5:30 pm, and we try to finish by 6:45 pm.

MEET'N'EAT will be at at the church, beginning at 5:00 P.M. From the south entrance, this will be in the Fellowship Hall (gym), and the cost will be $8. The menu will be Smothered Pork Chops, Baked Potatoes, Steamed Broccoli, Salad, & Chocolate Cake.

Mid-Cities Stamp Club - Flower Mound Meeting

September 16

The next Flower Mound meeting for 2026 will be held on Wednesday, September 16.

The program for this meeting will be our usual Show and Tell. Show and Tell will be followed by philatelic discussion.

APS Books will be available at the meeting as well as club sales books.

The latest APS Circuit includes two books of U.S. Covers, plus books of U.S. Classic Defs and Revenues. World Wide countries include Scandinavia, India, Russia, Aden, Canada (Queen Victoria Issues), Egypt, the Philippines, Venezuela, and German, Italian, and Portuguese Colonies (one book each).

Our current inventory of club books is heavy on early U.S. stamps. Some items are rather pricey, but at a considerable discount from catalog. There are also three books of Israel, as well as one of Germany and Great Britain, and a Germany and China cover book. Finally, there is a topical book of wildlife and cats (mostly mint sets).

Meeting Location: We will meet at the office of club member Sai Madhavapeddi, 3020 Corporate Court, Suite 400, Flower Mound, TX 75028. The sign on the office says Step Up Sports Medicine, and it is in a corporate park just east of the Texas Health Orthopedic Surgery Building in north Flower Mound. Access can be had from either Long Prairie Road (FM 2499) or College Parkway, via Corporate Drive. The regular meeting will begin at 7:30 P.M., however the room will be open around 7:00 P.M.

Mid-Cities Stamp Club - Granbury Meeting

September 22

The next Granbury meeting for 2026 will be held on Tuesday, September 22.

The program will be our Annual Auction: See the lot list below. The center will be opened at 6 P.M. for viewing of auction lots. The normal business meeting will be suspended. Bidders will be assigned a bid number, and bidding will begin shortly after 7 PM.

APS books will be available at this meeting, if received in time.

Payments We have been advised the bank prefers that checks for sales book purchases to be made out to "Mid Cities Stamp Club" rather than MCSC, etc. As an alternative, you can make checks out to Dave Stockbridge or Gifford Ely, and they will cash the check for deposit in the cash box. Or (preferably), cash.

Annual Granbury Stamp Auction will be held Tuesday, September 22nd (4th Tuesday). It will be held at the Bentwater Activity Center, 1800 W. Emerald Ct., Granbury, TX 76049. The center will be opened at 6 PM for viewing of auction lots. The normal business meeting will be suspended. Bidders will be assigned a bid number, and bidding will begin shortly after 7 PM. See the list of auction items a/o Sep 20 (below).

Absentee Bidding: Individuals not able to attend the live auction and wishing to bid may submit absentee bid(s). No absentee bids will be accepted after September 21. Absentee bids can be sent to “Dave Stockbridge via email at stockdave44@yahoo.com ”. Bids must contain bidders name, mailing address (if lots are to be mailed), Lot number(s) for each desired item, and the highest bid the buyer is willing to pay for each item. Minimum bids for each lot are identified on the list of lot items. Dave will place bids, for absentee bidders, starting at the minimum bid price and continue, as needed, until the buyers maximum bid is reached. All absentee bidders will be notified via email of the results of their bids. Buyers will be charged the closing bid price plus the mailing costs, unless other delivery or pickup instructions are provided.
