Mid-Cities Stamp Club - Arlington Meeting

September 3

The next Arlington meeting for 2025 will be held on Wednesday, September 3.

The program will be our second Semi-Annual Auction. We have 49 lots.

APS Books will be available at the meeting - this month's circuit books include:

Check it out !

Missing Scott Catalogs: we are missing the 2023 1B Scott catalog. There are no sign out cards for this volume. If you have it, please contact Rich Hildebrandt (richhilde@hotmail.com) or Skip Ely so we can get them ready for the mail auction in October.

Mystic catalogs are needed for the Beginners table at Expo. Skip Ely advises that they make excellent instructional guides for beginning collectors.

This in-person meeting will be at our official gathering place: Bob Duncan Community Center in Arlington, located at 2800 South Center Street, Arlington, TX 76014, in Vandergriff Park (MAPSCO 97A).

The regular meeting begins at 7 pm; however, the room is usually available as of 6 pm.

Ordinarily when we have an in-person meeting, we also have a MEET'N'EAT at an area restaurant, prior to the meeting. The group usually gathers between 5:15 and 5:30 pm, and we try to finish by 6:45 pm.

MEET'N'EAT is at Jay Jay Café, 1001 S Bowen, Arlington, TX 76013-2203 (817-861-1060), beginning about 5pm.

SEP 17

Mid-Cities Stamp Club - Flower Mound Meeting

September 17

The next Flower Mound meeting for 2025 will be held on Wednesday, September 17.

The program for this meeting will include our usual Show and Tell, and possibly, time permitting, a preview of Skip Ely's scheduled talk at Arlington about U.S. Postage Dues.

APS Books will be available at the meeting - this month's circuit books include:
US - Revenues (and 3 State Duck Stamps), Scandinavia (mostly used), Venezuela (Air Mail, C1/C337, M/U), US - 19C (used to #113), Macao (M/U), Malaysia, US - 19C (Civil War Covers and Postal Cards), Lithuania (M/U) and Cenntral Lithuania, Canada - post 1940, and several other countries. Check it out !

The annual Granbury auction will take place at the September 23 Granbury meeting. If you are unable to attend the auction you may submit bids to Dave Stockbridge before September 23. Provide Dave the “Item Number” and the “Maximum amount you are willing to pay” and he will bid for you. Dave will start the bidding at the minimum and bid until you get the item or the bid goes above your maximum. See the list of auction items a/o Sep 23. The meeting room will be open for viewing of auction lots beginning at 5:00pm. The auction will begin about 7:00pm.

Missing Scott Catalogs: We have located the Scott Catalog 3B, so now we just need to locate the 1B. If you have ever checked out a Scott catalog, look and see if you have inadvertently forgot about it. It is needed for the mail auction in October.

Mystic Catalogs make a great donation to the EXPO Beginner's Table. Skip Ely points out that they are very useful for instructional purposes. Let Skip know if you have any to donate.

Meeting Location: We will meet at the office of club member Sai Madhavapeddi, 3020 Corporate Court, Suite 400, Flower Mound, TX 75028. The sign on the office says Step Up Sports Medicine, and it is in a corporate park just east of the Texas Health Orthopedic Surgery Building in north Flower Mound. Access can be had from either Long Prairie Road (FM 2499) or College Parkway, via Corporate Drive. The regular meeting will begin at 7:30 P.M., however the room will be open around 7:00 P.M.

MEET'N'EAT will be at Jason’s Deli, 6020 Long Prairie Rd., Flower Mound (972) 355-3867, beginning about 5:30 P.M.
