Mid-Cities Stamp Club - Granbury Meeting

December 23

No December Meeting There will be NO meeting in December. Club members are encouraged to attend the Annual Christmas Dinner Party at the Arlington meeting location on December 3. The next Granbury meeting will be held on January 27, 2026.

MCSC Christmas Party: Wednesday, December 3 - MCSC Arlington Meeting - All MCSC members are invited to the annual Christmas party! David’s BBQ will provide meat, potato salad, beans, and cole slaw, while members are asked to bring dessert or another side. The doors open at 6:00 PM, with serving beginning about 6:30 PM. This will be followed by a short Expo review, and then a gift exchange. Further details are in the MCSC December newsletter.

Dues are Due: That’s $12 for a regular membership, $6 more for a family member (at the same address). It’s $22 for a mailed newsletter, and, if you’re feeling generous, $25 for a sponsor membership. Thanks in advance.

Mystery Box: Keep in mind that we (always) need donations for our club EXPO Mystery Box.

Meeting Location: We will meet at the Bentwater Activities Center, 1800 W Emerald Ct, Granbury, TX, adjacent to the Bentwater Marina northeast of Granbury. The regular meeting begins at 7:00 pm, but the Center should be open from around 6:00-6:15 pm to allow for member trading and socializing.

No December Meeting: There will be NO meeting in December. The next Granbury meeting will be held on January 27, 2026.

No December MEET'N'EAT: There will be no MEET'N'EAT in December, due to no meeting being held.

Mid-Cities Stamp Club - Arlington Meeting

January 7

The first Arlington meeting for 2026 will be held on Wednesday, January 7.

The program will be our annual Clean Out Your Closet. Clean Out Your Closet sales provide members with the opportunity to dispose of unwanted philatelic material or to find great bargains for their collecting interests. Rules and Price Tags.

Catalog Winner: Richard Kincaid is the winning bidder for both the Scott Catalogs Vol. 1-6 and the U.S. Specialized.

APS Books for January will be available IF received in time.

Dues are Due: Regular $12, Mailed Newsletter $22, Additional household members $6, Donor member $25. A Regular membership includes an emailed newsletter. If mailing your dues payment, please use the January newsletter form. Checks should be made payable to Mid-Cities Stamp Club. Mail to Mid-Cities Stamp Club, PO Box 820784, N. Richland Hills, TX 76182-0784. Members with a continuous membership of 25 years or more get free dues.

We will meet at our official gathering place: Bob Duncan Community Center in Arlington, located at 2800 South Center Street, 76014, in Vandergriff Park (MAPSCO 97A). The regular meeting begins at 7 pm; however, the room is usually available as of 6 pm.

Ordinarily when we have an in-person meeting, we also have a MEET'N'EAT at an area restaurant, prior to the meeting. The group usually gathers between 5:15 and 5:30 pm, and we try to finish by 6:45 pm.

MEET'N'EAT is at Jay Jay Café, 1001 S Bowen, Arlington, TX 76013-2203 (817-861-1060), beginning about 5pm.

Mid-Cities Stamp Club - Flower Mound Meeting

January 21

The first Flower Mound meeting for 2026 will be held on Wednesday, January 21.

The program for this meeting will be our usual Show and Tell plus a Clean Out Your Closet Sale (bring something to sell or trade).

APS Books will not be available at this meeting.

Special Arlington Program February 4 - This will be a discussion on expertization by TSDA dealer Jimmy Tomchesson of PSAG (Philatelic Stamp Authentication and Grading). Jimmy will be showing some of the new equipment used in authentication and stamp grading, and expertization in general. This promises to be an interesting show. Jimmy has offered to examine any stamps you may want to have expertized at the meeting and will provide discount coupons for stamps you may want to have expertized in the future. Come on out and bring your best challenges for Jimmy.

Meeting Location: We will meet at the office of club member Sai Madhavapeddi, 3020 Corporate Court, Suite 400, Flower Mound, TX 75028. The sign on the office says Step Up Sports Medicine, and it is in a corporate park just east of the Texas Health Orthopedic Surgery Building in north Flower Mound. Access can be had from either Long Prairie Road (FM 2499) or College Parkway, via Corporate Drive. The regular meeting will begin at 7:30 P.M., however the room will be open around 7:00 P.M.
