About Us

The Mid-Cities Stamp Club gathers twice a month, with one meeting in Arlington, Texas and the other in Irving, Texas. Also, we have an affiliate club in Granbury, Texas which meets once a month.

Our Arlington meetings are held the first Wednesday (the second Wednesday in April and when the first Wednesday falls on a national holiday) of each month at the Bob Duncan Community Center , located at 2800 South Center Street in Vandergriff Park. Meetings start at 7:30 but many members arrive early for trading and socializing. Following a brief business session, there is usually an auction or philatelic program.

The Irving meetings are held the third Wednesday (no meeting in December) of each month at the Irving Center for the Arts , located at 2000 West Airport Freeway (State Highway 183) in Jaycee Park and also start at 7:30. The agenda is similar to the Arlington meetings, with the addition of mixture picks.
NOTE: Occasionally the Irving meeting will be held at the Garden and Arts Building, 906 Senter St. When this is the case, it will be noted on the Home Page entry for that month's meeting, and a link to the map will be provided.

Granbury meetings occur on the fourth Tuesday of the month, 7:00 pm, at the Tarleton State University Dora Lee Langdon Cultural and Education Center (located one block east of the Granbury Square) in the Cottage/Studio building on the corner of Pearl and Stockton Streets, just east of the Gordon House. There is an off-street parking lot off Stockton St.

LIBRARY
The library of the Mid-Cities Stamp Club is located at the club's meeting room at the Bob Duncan Community Center, in Arlington, Texas. To borrow a volume, you must be a member of the club and sign the book out. The book must be returned by the next meeting, or a fine will be levied against the borrower. The library's holdings include a complete set of the current Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue, which is available for checkout.

SALES DEPARTMENT
Members have the opportunity to dispose of their duplicate stamps by mounting stamps in booklets which are circulated at club meetings and on approval. Sales circuit books from the American Philatelic Society are also available at meetings.

AUCTIONS
Two (2) auctions per calendar year will be held at both the Arlington and the Irving locations. Arlington auctions are held in May and September. Irving auctions are held in March and July. These auctions provide members an opportunity to dispose of their duplicate or excess philatelic material. Members should turn auction lots in during the month prior to the month of the auction.

FIELD TRIPS
Occasionally, the club organizes a field trip to an area postal facility, a stamp show, a first day ceremony, or other events of philatelic interest.

DUES AND FEES
Annual dues for continuing members are $12.00 for individual adults, $6.00 for additional adult members in the same household as an individual adult member, and $4.00 for youths. Dues for new members who join after the July/September quarter will be prorated on a quarterly basis.
