EXPO 2011 Final Shot by Stanley Christmas, EXPO General Chairperson I just want to express my appreciation to all the people whose hard work made the show such a success and so much fun to be a part of. It is a real pleasure to be able to work with such a dedicated group of people. I am happy to report the Mid-Cities Stamp Club EXPO 2011 was a rousing success this year in all areas. We met and then exceeded all our financial goals. All 29 dealers said they wanted to come back for EXPO 2012. Attendance was down a bit this year, probably due to the reputation of the extensive highway construction in and around Grapevine. But those that did make it were quality shoppers and that’s what we are looking for...quality over quantity. There are several articles in the newsletter about the show that will give you detailed insights about the show, so I will try to avoid stealing their thunder. The three Service Dog groups were a much bigger hit members and public than I expected and I sure wish I could figure out some way to bring them back. We had the best show debrief ever at the November Irving meeting. I have a lot of great ideas from the members to bring up at the first EXPO planning meeting, which probably will be held in February, 2012. Please submit all bills and invoices for EXPO 2011 to Cindy by December 1. Close out date for EXPO 2011’s books will be January 1, 2012. If you have any suggestions to improve the show, please let me know. Also, we need to start thinking about next year’s theme. You can end me your suggestions at elvira6@swbell.net. Have a Cheerful Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
